SWAT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will not stay in power anymore in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a public gathering here, Nawaz, while calling Imran Khan ‘Ilzam Khan’, said that the PTI won’t be able to form government in the province again as it has betrayed the confidence of the masses in its five-year tenure and did not honour even a single promise it made with the people during the campaign for 2013 elections. “I am disappointed over the politics of Imran Khan as his politics revolves around cheat, accusations and blame game,” he added.
Nawaz said the PTI government did not construct a single school, hospital and college in its tenure, adding that the people will hold the PTI and Imran Khan accountable for coughing up over Rs2 billion of the billion tree tsunami project. “They are now accusing each other of corruption,” he added.
Nawaz Sharif said Imran Khan did nothing except usurping the money of his aide Jahangir Tareen, who he referred as ‘Imran’s ATM’. “KP government’s performance is before the people of the province, who are now fed up with PTI and its policies and want a real change. People of KP will now hold PTI accountable for zero performance and oust them through ballot in the upcoming elections,” he claimed.
Nawaz said the PML-N would form the next governments at the Centre and the provinces due to its overall performance. He pledged to establish a new KP by developing its infrastructure and natural potential to the optimum level. He said the real change in KP could only be brought by the PML-N like it did in Punjab and Islamabad. He said that if anybody wants to see development, he should go to Lahore and other parts of Punjab to see it for itself.”If anyone has filled their pockets with your money, then Amir Muqam is about to come here and retrieve your money,” Nawaz told the gathering.
Nawaz said the PTI leaders who trumpeted Lahore metro bus as ‘Jangla Bus’are now constructing Peshawar metro bus. The Lahore metro was constructed at a cost of Rs40 billion and Rawalpindi’s at a cost of Rs45 billion, he said, adding the Peshawar metro was being constructed at a cost of Rs71 billion.
The PML-N supremo said his government established peace and harmony by eliminating terrorism. He said MalalaYusafzai’s visit to Swat is indication of the fact that peace has been restored in the country.”We are concerned about future of the young generation,” he said, and urged the youth to support the PML-N in the next general election.
Nawaz said Imran Khan himself admitted that he owned an offshore company, adding that the PTI chief should have extended hand to the government for the progress and development of the country but he started politics of mudslinging and hurling accusations against political opponents.
In her address, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari were now brothers who had joined hands under a banner that did not represent the people.
In a fiery speech in Kabal, Maryam said, “You people voted for his party [PTI] in the 2013 election and he took your vote and placed it at Zardari’s feet during the Senate elections.” “If Imran has to do the same next time, he should just tell people to vote directly for the arrow, instead of getting them to vote for the bat,” she added.
“When you voted for the PTI in the last election, you hoped Imran will work for you. However, he spent the whole term in blocking roads in Punjab and the federal capital,” Maryam said. “Where was Imran when floods hit Swat, or when the dengue infection was prevalent here? Let me tell you where he was … he was in the federal capital, being a pawn in someone else’s efforts to topple the government,” she added.
She said that decision taken for vengeance will not be accepted, adding the institutions only pressurised them but were not working to get former president Pervez Musharraf back.
